On 26 December 2020 NH nieuws has broadcasted a video interview with Lisette, the mother of a still born child. She expressed her gratitude for the work of the photographers of the Still Foundation. The anonymous photographer in this story was Jaap. The shoot was done in the hospital in May 2020.

Contemplation

The chances for a miscarriage are very low due to the well organised medical pregancy care in the Netherlands. But in the very unlikely situation that the parents are confronted with the sudden loss of their child, a traumatic event unfolds, in which the parents are suddenly overcome by all sorts of practical matters for which they were never prepared. In that rollercoaster there is hardly any opportunity to say goodbye to your child in peace. Before you know it, that moment is over and there is nothing tangible left of that loved one. Then it is valuable if the parents invite a professional photographer to capture that short moment as an eternal memory.
